What would you highlight about Bann Elephant Home

Nice place with some things to enhance

The house as such is really nice. The rooms are really basic, but then you have so much space in the house to sit and relax on all three floors which is lovely. The employees were friendly and helped us with all questions. In the morning you got free coffee and tea and can order good breakfast at a reasonable price.

First thing, there were so many mosquitos in the hostel due to the open wooden building. They put up signs that it's prohibited to put repellent on spots in the house, so we would have expected to at least have mosquito nets in the rooms, but there were none and the dark wooden walls made it impossible to chase mosquitos. Second, one of the two upper bathrooms smelled so bad! We're not sure whether it came out of the sink or the toilet itself, but the last night we could even smell it in our room. That was disgusting and really needs to be fixed.

Beware if you are light sleeper , DO not stay here !!! Soundproof - totally non ! U can hear clearly what upper floor do , very loud sound especially when the dorm guest back on 10pm , they are start packing their laugage and leave tomorrow morning / they drunk , the sound will make you no able to sleep for whole night Cheap price , what is you is what you get Good location very near to Sunday night market Friendly staff Cool air cond Big room

Atmosphere and location!

Great location and super cool building! Beds were very comfortable and they had good lounging areas both upstairs and downstairs. Had both fan and aircon options (would recommend aircon if you’re going in the warmer months although a fan is fine for the cooler months). Short distance to a brilliant night market for dinner, a massage place that does the best thai massages for only 160 baht, temples and more.

Bathrooms needed a deep clean but they weren’t unusable. Just a warning for future guests, the guesthouse is an old thai wooden building so floors will be squeaky and there’s no soundproofing- bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper! Also the bathroom has a smell to it but that’s pretty usual in most places with older plumbing.

Price was very reasonable. Good location to walk everywhere.

When we arrived early in the morning it took the lady some time to say hello and check us in. The bathroom had an awful smell. We woke up one night by a horrible smell that came into our room. We still don't know what it was. But it was quite bad! Ou can hear EVERYTHING. One of the guests in the dorm next to our room had an alarm set at 4am and then snozeed every 10 minutes for an hour. Not the Hostels fault, however maybe remind ppl to use a silent alarm.

Good location short walk to things. The room had a good fan so didn't feel too hot. clean shared bathroom with hot water showers. Can book buses for yoy to pai, Bangkok etc Breakfast was ok did the trick. Good location not noisy overall good value for the price paid.

Thats its advertised as a restaurant when really they only serve breakfast.

Good but can do better

The staff were very accomodating. They suggested a lot of thjngs thst we could do during our stay. The bed was also comfortable.

Since the hostel is made of wood and has a thai traditional design, you can hear other people from other rooms or floors. The bathroom was okay but I wish it was cleaner.

Struggling to get my bag up a tiny circular staircase while not smashing my head in- as the staff looked at me impatiently. They had an entire nights deposit charge that at least they reduced they reduced 150 baht to help me pay for my taxi - after explaining id have to come back after i got change if they couldn't.

Protein stains on the bed. The staff don't speak English, don't smile, and don't seem embarrassed by the PROTEIN STAINS ON THE BED. When i complained, they just moved me to another room with some other stains on the sheets. I pointed them out and they took me to the 3rd floor, a tiny room with enough dust that I couldn't avoid putting gray dust spots on the sheets while laying down, trying to not inhale the stuff - since there is no bed frame, just mattresses on the floor. On the 2nd change, agree didn't even look in the room or wait to see if it was ok, just left. I think it's standard faire here, as they have signs everywhere that you cannot bring in outside guests and they will charge you your entire deposit if you do. Apparently that fee doesn't go to washing the dirty sheets after.

We loved the entire wooden house, the atmosphere was really nice and friendly. They serve a breakfast if you want, for 30-40 THB, beer for 70 THB. Shower is shared but really clean!:)

It's better to communicate just with the guy, he speaks lovely english, so to avoid any inconvenience this guy should be your choice:)

The staff were helpful, booked trips and transport for us. It was clean and in a good location not to far from the market and bars/restaurants etc.

It was a little bit noisy due to the wooden floors and walls.

Considering there were lots of people staying, the communal areas were not used and it wasn’t very socialable.

The staff was very friendly and I guess for the price it was a good deal! Beds were comfortable and the rooms looked quite nice at first glance (when taking a closer look you’ll see that some of the furniture is outdated and worn down). The Old Town is in walking distance.

The bathroom looked quite sketchy and was not clean (looked cage-ish and was located outside; plus the shower is just a handle located above the sink and points towards the door to your bedroom). You can hear the people in the rooms next to you.

A super cute wooden building. The room we stayed in (the double w/air con) was very basic, but it felt very contained like a little hut! Travelling with my girl, we really enjoyed the rustic feel to the place, and actually enjoyed it more compared to a hotel that tries to be modern. A very lovely stay if you enjoy rustic/basic cottagy places, and the lady on the desk was AMAZING!

The only criticisms I have are that the bed fabrics are slightly cheap (cotton would have been nicer) and when somebody walks in the room upstairs it is very loud!

The hostel is very beautiful and it is kind of a bungalow. As for me, I love any house which is made of wood and this was perfect for me. They had a spacious lobby with beautiful wooden tables and chairs and more importantly free coffee and tea in the morning. The staff was awesome and super friendly.

Again this is not a big issue. The water level in the shower is very slow but it doesn't matter to me. I had a comfy stay.

This property was perfect for what I needed. Host were so nice and helpful. Price was perfect. Located right in center city so everything fun is in walking distance. I would highly recommend this place to others.

The staff were really helpful and assisted us with booking tours and transport. If you're looking for an affordable, simple spot to crash for a few days it's good but don't expect anything fancy.

The bathrooms were not fully covered so it was a bit leaky.
